Stock market rises in apprehension of Trump’s likely victory

The Indian stock market on Wednesday surged 700 points in anticipation of former President Donald Trump’s likely victory in the US presidential election but analysts said it was too early to predict who will enter the White House this time.
As Trump took early lead in the election, the benchmark BSE index rose by 700 points by mid noon with Infosys gaining more than 3 percent to reach 1813. TCS, Tech Mahindra and HCL Tech also showed gains in the early morning trade.
Nifty also climbed by 200 points with stocks like BEL, TCS and Adani Enterprise rising. However, stocks like Indusind Bank, Titan, HDFCLife and Cipla were in negative zone.
The Sensex on Tuesday rose by 694 points buoyed by global cues of positive results in the US presidential elections.
