Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri on Tuesday turned 90. Khanduri’s birthday was celebrated in a simple way in company of his close relatives and friends at his residence in Dehradun.
A host of leaders also sent congratulatory wishes to the former Chief Minister, who is remembered for his tough stand on complex issues. During Khanduri’s tenure, the first industrial development hill policy was introduced in the state with the purpose of establishing eco-friendly units.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri in a message on X wished her father healthy and happiness in life. She also remembered the role played by Khanduri in the overall development of Uttarakhand. He was the Union Minister for Surface Transport in the former Vajpayee government and represented Pauri-Garhwal parliamentary constituency many times. He retired from the Indian Army as a Major General.
