Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday released “Khaki Mein Sthitpragya”, a new book written by former state DGP Anil Raturi at a function in Dehradun.

Raturi has written this book based on his memoirs and experiences as an IPS officer.

Speaking at the function, Dhami said Raturi has presented his memoirs, experiences and challenges in an interesting way in the new book. Explaining the meaning of Sthityapragya, he said sthitpragya is one who remains steadfast in both success and failure.

“When we realize that no one is going to support us, we rise above the ground and come into a state of direct connection with God, this is also Sthitpragya. This is possible only by the grace of God,” Dhami noted.

Describing Raturi as a successful and dutiful officer, Dhami said Raturi and his wife Radha Raturi, who is Chief Secretary, have made a special place for themselves not only in Uttarakhand but in the country also with their good work and behavior.

During his job period, Raturi faced many difficult challenges but managed to solve them with his strong willpower. “It is important for a man to have the quality to achieve the goal while keeping his mind calm while working,” he said.

“To face every challenge, it is also necessary to have patience along with strong will. This is a journey in which there are many ups and downs. It is important to maintain patience in adverse circumstances. Today the police has modern technology. Earlier, the police was facing such challenges with limited resources,” he said.

Vice Chancellor of Doon University Prof. Surekha Dangwal said “there is a belief that if one is in uniform, one cannot be a Sthitapragya and if one is a Sthitapragya, he cannot wear a uniform.  Raturi has broken this myth with the inspirational journey of his life that one can be a Sthitapragya in uniform also”.

He said the writing style of Raturi has the influence of great English author T S Eliot. A person who behaves the same way in happiness, sorrow, passion and in his ups and downs of life is a person of steady wisdom.

He said that through this book he has told that the life of a police officer is like the edge of a sword. It is not necessary that if you enter the Chakravyuh and break it, you will be called victorious, if you do not break it, you will definitely be called unsuccessful.

Chief Secretary Radha Raturi sang Mangalgeet at the inauguration of the program.

On this occasion, DGP Abhinav Kumar, former Chief Secretary N Ravishankar and renowned author Dr Sudha Pandey and Health Secretary R Rajesh Kumar were also present.
