One person was missing as heavy rains on Wednesday lashed Dehradun resulting in water-logging in vast areas with people commuting in knee-deep water.
Ram Prasad Badoni (55) was swept away after his scooty fell into a flooded nulah in Nauka area of Dehradun.
Police with the help of public address systems warned people not to venture near rivers in Dehradun and asked them to remain alert.
The rain water also entered the state cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi’s house in Dehradun in the evening.
Most of the commuters complained that they faced tough time in reaching homes after work. “I am drenched despite having umbrella,” said Kusum Agarwal, a domestic help.
Most of the streets and roads were flooded with people in localities like Shree Ganesh Enclave saying their houses have been waterlogged.
However, there was no report of any injury or damage to the property in the city due to rains.
The rains which began in the evening were continuing till late night.
