Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, who is on a tour of Kumaon region, has praised the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying it would help in preserving the environment.
Participating in various programs in Nainital district, she called for promoting the environmental protection programmes by planting trees. She said “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign gives us an opportunity to protect our environment for future generations.”
The Assembly Speaker also participated in a tree plantation program organized under Harela festival at Mallikarjun Vidyalaya Bhimtal where she planted trees with the help of local residents and activists and talked about the importance of environmental protection. She said, “It is the duty of all of us to protect our environment and plant as many trees as possible. It plays an important role in keeping our earth green and clean.”
At Bhimtal, a grand welcome program was organized under the leadership of local MLA Ram Singh Kaida, in which hundreds of workers and people were present. Khanduri expressed her gratitude and thanks to all the workers.
