Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri was given a rousing welcome by her supporters and BJP workers on her arrival at Jaspur area of Kumaon region, a press statement said on Thursday.
Khanduri is on a tour of Kumaon region these days. On reaching Jaspur on the first day of her three-day tour, former MLA Jaspur Shailendra Mohan Singhal and BJP workers gave a ceremonial welcome to her with flower garlands.
She later planted trees on the occasion of Harela at the local Adarsh Kisan Inter College Vidya Nagar Baheri and Primary Health Center Garhinegi Jaspur. On this occasion, Bhushan discussed the development works and local problems there and observed various schemes in the welcome program organized at Jaspur Garhinegi.
Khanduri said that works like environmental protection and tree plantation are very important for the future. This initiative will not only benefit the earth but will also ensure a clean and green environment for the coming generations.
BJP workers and local people present in the program greeted the Speaker and appreciated her leadership. They also enquired about the well-being of former Chief Minister Major General Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri and praised the working style of Gen Khanduri when he was the Chief Minister.
The Speaker in her address thanked all the people present and said that she will always be committed to the development of Uttarakhand and the welfare of the people.
On this occasion, former MLA Dr Singhal, Suresh Lahiya, Vijay Makkar, Gurutaj, Ravi Sahni, Naresh Lohiya, Harish, Sanjay Khanna Aakanksha, Inder Kumar Mohan, Rajkumar Chawla, Rupesh Botla were present.
