Dehradun on Friday recorded the hottest day of the summer season with the mercury soaring to 40.7 degree C.

The met department has issued an alert for heat wave in the next few days in the plains of Uttarkahand including Dehradun. The minimum temperature in Dehradun also rose to 23 degrees C. On Thursday, Dehradun recorded 39.2 degree C which was also the hottest day of the season.

Most of the people in Dehradun said they felt intense heat in the day. “I was sweating all through the day. It was very, very hot,” said Rekha Kumari.

Several other people also said they felt like taking bath many times in the day to escape the intense heat.

The met department said the temperature is likely to remain between 41-42 degrees C in the next 2-3 days In Dehradun.

As the temperature rose considerably, some people also said they were going to hills now.
