The Uttarakhand administration on Sunday evening asked pilgrims to resume their pilgrimage to Yamunotri after asking them to defer it earlier for a day.
As thousands of pilgrims gathered at Yamunotri Dham area, a worried administration officials have asked the pilgrims in the morning to defer the pilgrimage for one day on Sunday.
“Today (Sunday), as per the carrying capacity, enough devotees have reached Yamunotri Dham for the yatra. We politely appeal to the pilgrims visiting Yamunotri to defer their plans for today (Sunday),” said the Uttarakhand police on X.
The move came after three pilgrims died of heart attack on Saturday as the road and trek route to Yamunotri shrine started getting choked with thousands of pilgrims prompting the administration to take the step of asking pilgrims to defer the pilgrimage for one day.
