A one-week Advance Management Development Programme (A-MDP) on Supply Chain Management was organized by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII), Ahmedabad with the support of Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India at PM Gati Shakti Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Doon University.
The programme aimed at enhancing the skills and learning of small businesses. A total of 25 participants attended the programme . The first day of programme (12th March 2024) started with the inauguration ceremony by Yashpal Sardana – Plant Head, Hero MotorCorp, Haridwar plant, Guest of Honour- S C Nautiyal, Ex-Director, Directorate of Industries, Uttarakhand. Addressing the audience and wishing good luck for the five days of learning, Sardana outlined his vision for future industrial development in the state.
The programme was conducted for five days between 10 am to 5 pm. Resource persons from Graphic Era (Deemed to be University), Dehradun IIT- Roorkee, UPES, Dehradun, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, and Chitkara University, Punjab were welcomed for sharing their knowledge on enhancing digital supply chains, sustainable products, customer-centric omnichannel, marketing of sustainable products, warehouse management and cold storages and developing business practices for MSMEs. The 2nd day (13th March 2024) of the Advanced MDP programme began with a session by Dr. Anuj Raturi, Graphic era (deemed to be university) on “navigating patent ideation and application process in supply chain activities”. Then we had a session with Dr. Manu Sharma, Graphic Era (deemed to be university) in which she briefed on “How to market sustainable products” and various technical aspects in MS Excel for managing the supply chain costs. The last session of day 2 was by Prof. Rajat Agarwal, IIT, Roorkee on “the importance of sustainable and customer-centric omnichannel supply chain in the MSME Ecosystem”.
The 3rd day (14th March 2024) of the Advanced MDP programme began with a session by Prof. Pankaj Madan , Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, on “digital supply chains” and continued by Dr. Saurabh Tiwari, UPES in which he briefed on “warehouse management and cold store activities for sustainable supply chains” and various challenges, issues, and importance related to cold storage facilities.
On the 4th day (15th March 2024) of the advanced MDP programme, a session by Dr. Deepak Kaushal sir, Graphic Era (Deemed to be University) on “Resilient supply chain and Intelligent systems” was elaborated, the further session on “Sustainable Supply chains and business practices in MSMEs” was taken by Dr. Adarsh Agarwal, Professor Chitkara University, Punjab; Session on “value chain analysis and supply chain performance” by Dr. Sudhanshu Joshi, Doon University; and “Roadmap for building sustainable supply chains” by Prof. H C Purohit, Dean, Doon University. On the last day (15th March 2024) of the programme, a session by Prof. Millie Pant, IIT-Roorkee on “Generative AI in supply chain management and its application for MSMEs” was taken, and further the last session of the programme by Prof. V K Singh, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar on “role of circular supply chains and industry 4.0 in MSMEs” was taken.
The valedictory session ended with great enthusiasm among the participants. The Guest of Honour for the valedictory session was Prof. Surekha Dangwal, Vice-chancellor, Doon University. She specified the fact that “supply chain management has become a life and blood of MSMEs”, hence small businesses and start-ups need to focus more on developing strengths in this domain. Further, a concluding speech by Prof. R P Mamgain, Dean School of Social Sciene, Prof. H C Purohit, Dean Student Welfar, Prof. Harsh Dobhal, Head, Department of Social Welfare and Dr. Sudhanshu Joshi, Coordinator, PM Gati Shakti Centre of Excellence in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and a vote of Thanks by Dr. Rajeev Sharma, Head of SME Department, EDII, Ahmedabad was presented acknowledging the active contribution of various stakeholders during the programme.
