Young maid allegedly commits suicide, three held

A female domestic help (15) has allegedly committed suicide in a flat at the posh Racecourse area in Dehradun on Thursday morning, police said.
The girl was found hanging from a roof in the bathroom following which the owner of the flat Abhishek Luthera took her to the government Coronation Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
After the incident, Luther along with his father informed the Nehru Colony police station about the hanging in the flat. Soon, a police team rushed to the flat and picked up vital clues/evidence and seized the CCTV footage.
However on the complaint of the deceased’s father Lakshmi Sahni, the police has registered a case of murder under 302 of the IPC, 7/8 POSCO Act, 3 (A)4 Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 against Luthera, his wife and one more person in the Nehru Colony Police Station.
Keeping in view the sensitivity of the case, all the three persons have been taken into custody and are being interrogated by the police.
According to the CCTV footage, the girl was found walking towards the bathroom with a stool in her hands at 9.27 AM. After sometime, Luthera is seen looking for the maid and entering the bathroom and taking her to hospital.
A postmortem conducted on the body of the girl revealed no injuries and no sexual assault. The main reason for the death is stated to be suicidal hanging.
The police are also conducting investigations in the case and have questioned some eyewitnesses.
