The Project Management Institute North India in collaboration with Uttarakhand Productivity Council organized a seminar on Strategic Management and Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in public sector projects at UJVN Ltd headquarters in Dehradun on Saturday.
On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Singhal, Managing Director, UJVN Ltd was also nominated as Region Connect Ambassador by the Chairman and Board of Directors of Project Management Institute North India.
Established in 1969, the Project Management Institute is a leading non-profit organization in the world in project, program and portfolio management, which helps in further maturing the profession of project management through its globally recognized standards, certifications, resources, tools, academic research, publications, professional development courses and networking opportunities.
The objective of the seminar organized today was to make the participants aware of the challenges faced by public sector organizations and to successfully deal with them and the use of strategic management and artificial intelligence in the execution and management of projects.
Speaking as the keynote speaker in the seminar, Dr Singhal said “by using new technologies and best working systems, we can complete the projects in a timely manner as well as find timely solutions to mitigate the potential problems that may arise during the project work.”
Highlighting the importance of strategic planning and artificial intelligence, he said that with their help, the projects can be completed before time even in difficult and adverse circumstances.
Discussing the efficient management policy adopted during the construction of the UJVN’s 120 MW Vyasi hydel Project, he said that during the Covid epidemic period when the works on most of the projects all over the world was stalled, the company successfully completed the project in time.
Dr Singhal further said that with the help of AI and strategic planning in the energy sector benefits like efficiency in project operation, improvement in power transmission and distribution, saving of time as well as reduction in the cost of works etc. can also be achieved. In the program, North India Chairman of Project Management Institute Jai Kumar gave the inaugural address, former Chairman Pritam Gautam spoke on project management, trainer P.K. Jha spoke on life skills, advisor Mukul Gupta on challenges faced by public sector projects and their solutions, Dr. Gaurav Kumar Chawla on artificial intelligence and retired Chief General Manager of ONGC A K. Singh spoke on strategic management.
UJVNL Limited’s Director Operations Vinay Mishra, Executive Directors Pankaj Kulshreshtha and Digvijay Singh, General Managers Vivek Atreya, Indra Mohan Karasi, K.K. Jaiswal, Sanjay Patel and Vimal Kumar along with Deputy General Manager, Executive Engineer and Assistant Engineer level officers participated in the seminar. On this occasion Deputy General Manager of Human Resources Department Babita Kohli and Manish Ingle, Senior Personnel Officer Bhim Bahadur, A.E. Naveen Joshi along with Rajesh Yadav etc. were present.
