Accident occurred at Ratoli village

At least 14 people were killed and 12 injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling fell into Alaknanda river in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand on Saturday.
The accident occurred at Ratoli village and most of victims were tourists from different places like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh, top police officials said. Police along with SDRF were carrying out rescue operation at the site of the accident.
While ten people died on the spot, four succumbed to their injuries in hospital.
Seven seriously injured persons were airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who expressed grief over the accident. This include the two persons who succumb to injuries. The other two succumb to injuries in a Rudraprayag hospital.
The Chief Minister has asked District Magistrate Rudraprayag to order inquiry into the accident.
